We had enormous fun with this touring production of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance. Given the general confusion about Frederic's age (on account of him being born on a leap year), there was plenty of scope for jokes about my being the oldest Frederic ever!

Little did I know that this would be my last production with the Devizes-based White Horse Opera as my work subsequently took me overseas.
The role of Mabel was shared between Barbara Gompels and Sian Dicker (before she became famous!)
