On this page you will find links to some of the organizations and people I have mentioned on the website.

(Click on the red title links to go to the appropriate website!)

Wessex Concert Orchestra   The Wessex Concert Orchestra was formed as a works orchestra in 1940 and has been championing amateur music making ever since.  Although based in Chippenham, North Wiltshire, as the title suggests, the orchestra is developing into a regional orchestra specializing in light music, filmscore music, show music and concert items rather than major symphonic works.

Wessex Male Choir   The Swindon-based Wessex Male Choir was only formed in 2001 by its inspirational Musical Director, Robert Elliott.  Since then, it has won numerous accolades and awards and in 2006 came second in its class at the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen, beating all other UK entrants.  Recently the Choir has toured in Spain and performed in Westminster Cathedral and in the Forum, Bath.  The choir performs brilliantly and the guys are a friendly and fun-loving bunch, guaranteeing there is never a dull moment!  I also sing with Presto, the choir's small a capella group.

White Horse Opera   White Horse Opera enjoys a marvellous reputation for putting on professional-standard opera productions (in English) in and around North Wiltshire.  The opera chorus is locally recruited and the principals are a mixture of amateurs and professionals.  Although based in Devizes, the company also produces a touring opera every year in addition to its main production.

Kennet Opera   The Newbury-based Kennet Opera is a community-based grand opera society that has been staging opera since 1994.  Visit their website to find out more.

Debra Skeen (Soprano)   A superb teacher and an inspiration.  I am lucky enough to be one of Debra's students at her studio in High Wycombe.

Oswestry Musical Theatre Company   OMTC (or the Oswestry & District Amateur Operatic Society as it was then) was where I suppose I developed a taste for performing.  (It's also where I met my wife!)  Although I am no longer involved with OMTC, I have fond memories of singing with them and wish them well!
